NOCN Level 2 NVQ (CSkills) – Wall and Floor Tiling

The Wall and Floor Tiling Level 2 NVQ qualification is designed for delivery in a working environment, meaning you must be employed to study this qualification. It aims to develop and recognise your skills, knowledge, and competence, preparing you to work as a wall and floor tiler within the construction industry or to progress onto further learning. This qualification helps learners acquire essential, transferable practical skills alongside the necessary underpinning knowledge.  While it is part of an apprenticeship, the qualification is also available outside of an apprenticeship for learners whose circumstances prevent them from completing a full apprenticeship, or for those with prior skills and knowledge who don't require all components of the apprenticeship. Additionally, the qualification is accepted by the industry as valid entry for a job role.

  • What Subject's are Covered?

    The learner will learn key practical skills and knowledge in these mandatory units:

    • Conforming to General Health, Safety and Welfare in the Workplace
    • Conforming to Productive Working Practises in the Workplace
    • Moving, Handling and Storing Resources in the Workplace
    • Preparing Backgrounds to Receive Wall and/or Floor Tiling in the Workplace
    • Tiling Wall and Floor Structures in the Workplace

    The Wall and Floor Tiling Level 2 NVQ qualifications request the learner to demonstrate, in a real workplace environment, that you are competent against a set of performance statements. You are assessed by an occupationally competent and qualified assessor whose job is to work with you and help you through your programme of learning.


    This qualification is supported by federation The Tile Association (TTA).


    If you need to obtain a CSCS/CPCS card, or simply want to be recognised in your area of expertise by gaining a qualification, this qualification is for you.


    The Health and Safety CSCS test will be required to enable you to work on site.
