IMI Level 2 Certificate in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Principles

As progression for our Level 1 Motor Vehicle and new students who have already completed a Level 1 Chameleon will be delivering Level 2 courses from September.   This course is also suitable for anyone who already has a Level 1 qualification in Motor Vehicle.

The Level 2 Motor Vehicle Maintenance course is designed to provide progression to prepare learners to enter the industry in Motor Vehicle.

The IMI Level 2 Certificate in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Principles course, has been developed for delivery in a training environment using simulated conditions and the test(s) are based on the learner demonstrating their knowledge and skills through the completion of all the requirements of the qualification.

All the units of training must be completed. ALL outcomes must be achieved during the training programme (evidence from site based testing is not permissible.)

To gain the diploma, you must achieve all units, the synoptic practical assignment and multiple choice tests.

This teaching programme sets out the knowledge and understanding necessary for Learners to complete the Level 2 Certificate.

The Level 2 Motor Vehicle Maintenance course programme is broken down into five technical sections including: the four main vehicle areas designated by the National Occupational Standards developed by IMI.

  • Engine Technology
  • Transmission Technology
  • Electrical & Electronic Technology
  • General Aspects e.g. health and safety, legal aspects and organisational requirements.

IMI Level 2 Certificate in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Principles Entry Requirements

You must have a Level 1 Motor Vehicle Maintenance qualification and you must ensure that you have the potential and opportunity to gain the qualification.

Course costs – £3200 + VAT
