The Level 1 in Motor Vehicle Maintenance course is designed to give a foundation approach to qualifications and prepare learners to enter the industry in Motor Vehicle. This qualification could also be used as an ‘interest’ course for a wide range of learners.
The course has been developed for delivery in a training environment using simulated conditions and the test(s) are based on the learner demonstrating their knowledge and skills through the completion of all the requirements of the qualification.
All the units of training must be completed. ALL outcomes must be achieved during the training programme (evidence from site based testing is not permissible.)
To gain the diploma, you must achieve all units, the synoptic practical assignment and multiple choice tests. You must also pass the E-volve online test.
This course is a Study Programme for 16-18’s which consists of:

- Work Experience
- Tutorial
- Maths
- English
The qualification comprises:
- Basic motor vehicle engineering
- Health and safety
- Routine maintenance
